Aging Aircraft Consulting is excited to have been awarded the Mission Support Generation Contract in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Agile Combat Support, Support Equipment and Vehicles Division. The contract is to provide engineering services and logistics support for the sustainment of the Munitions Handing Unit (MHU) 110 & 141 trailers. The contract is a small business set aside four year IDIQ contact.
The MHU-110 and MHU-141 trailers are non-powered aerospace ground equipment in the form of towable trailers. They are used for temporary storage & transportation of munitions. These trailers support all Air Force MAJCOMs and are considered flight critical equipment, since loading munitions is often an essential mission requirement. These trailers ended production in the 1970s and are near the end of their second service life. Due to their extended service life, both trailers are experiencing significant sustainment issues such as parts obsolescence and structural fatigue. As of a few years ago there were approximately 6,000 in service.
